Automated Faxing

GoldFax Queues

Send faxes from data processing applications by printing directly to GoldFax queues.  Fax numbers and cover page information are specified by using GoldFax keywords included in the output file.  Variable information can be overlaid on a graphical image, just like printing to a pre-printed form.

Command Line Interface

Fax jobs can be automated using the GoldFax Command Line Interface.  Starting with the basic GFAX/SEND command, switches allow specification of recipients, cover page information, and status notification.

HP Compatible Output

Files or documents that can be printed to an HP LaserJet printer can be faxed with full font and graphics support.  GoldFax supports both PCL4 and PCL5 output.

PostScript Compatible Output

Files or documents that can be printed to a PostScript printer can also be faxed with full font and graphics support.  GoldFax supports both PostScript Level 1 and Level 2 output.

Fonts, Graphics, Signatures, Logos and Letterhead

Faxes can include fonts and graphics created by a wide variety of applications.  Signatures can be scanned and then protected using standard file protections.

Phonebooks

Personal and system fax phonebooks store frequently-used numbers.  Distribution lists can be used for broadcast faxes.

Automatic Retries

GoldFax will automatically retry busy or no-answer transmissions.  The number and frequency of retries is defined by the system or network manager.

Network Faxing

Windows Interface

GoldFax provides complete faxing capabilities right from the PC desktop for OpenVMS networks.  Faxes can be sent from any Windows desktop application.  When the GoldFax Print option is selected, users can enter cover page information, select recipient names and distributing lists, or enter ad hoc fax numbers.

Inbound Routing

Received faxes can be routed automatically to a printer or the InBox of the appropriate person. Designated fax coordinators can also view the first page of a fax and forward it to the appropriate person.  Received faxes can be scaled, rotated and automatically sized with the viewing window.

Reduced Fax Costs

Delayed Send

Reduce fax costs by sending faxes during evening hours when phone rates are lower and more system resources are available.

Least Cost Routing

For wide area networks, GoldFax can automatically route outbound faxes to the system that will give the lowest cost transmission.

Plain Paper Fax

Received faxes can be routed to a laser printer providing the equivalent of a plain paper fax machine.

Full Reporting

Status Reporting

Current status information is available for each user.  Status records for faxes with multiple recipients are grouped together.  The status of fax transmissions can also be sent via electronic mail.

Management Reporting

GoldFax captures complete data for all fax transmissions, both sent and received.  Reports can be customised to provide specific users, fax selection (successful, failed, etc.), date/time range, etc. Report data can be exported for use with database and spreadsheet applications.
